Model Lexus Ls 600h L Sent Out

The Lexus brand has been known as one of the most popular luxury brands in the automotive market. This, of course, is not much of an amazing fact since the Lexus nameplate, Lexus auto parts, Lexus cars and vehicles, and all other things under the name, are actually created and owned by one of the top vehicle companies in the industry – the Toyota Motor Corporation.

Just most recently, the brand has already rolled out the first and only batch of some special model vehicles that would be entering the market under its name. The new special edition vehicles is named the Lexus LS 600h L Launch Edition.

There are only a hundred units of these Lexus LS 600h L Launch Edition models. Now, if you would like to own one of these, there is actually a criteria as per who can buy and who can own these vehicle. According to Lexus, only those members who belong to the brand’s InCircle customer recognition program can purchase and own the Lexus LS 600h L Launch Edition. This may sound to be quite an unfair thing for those who may be interested but it is what the luxury brand wants and as far as everybody knows, it is also what the brand is going to do.

Anyhow, if you are really interested in the Lexus LS 600h L Launch Edition, you just might want to know that the vehicles would be sporting around and offering a new exterior color. The new one is going to be named the Truffle Mica. Aside from this change, the special edition Lexus LS 600h L Launch Edition is also going to have an alabaster-like interior. The interior would be having a badge that holds the special Launch Edition name.

These are not the only things one can find quite unique on the Lexus LS 600h L Launch Edition. You see, according to Lexus, the special edition vehicle would also be zooming and cruising through the streets and roads on chrome alloy wheels that measure some nineteen inches. You can also put in your baggage in the vehicle’s truck that has been designed and furnished with just the right amount of space to put in your baggage. The Lexus LS 600h L Launch Edition also gives its new owner a new set of luggage made from Italian leather. And interestingly, the leather matches the one used in the cabin of the vehicle.

Lexus Presents Two High Performance Vehicles at the 2007 Naias

In Detroit: Lexus has unveiled two of its pride, the IS-F high performance luxury sedan and the LF-A sports-car concept at the 2007 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit.

The all-new 2008 IS-F high performance luxury sedan is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine that delivers 400 horsepower. The LF-A supercar concept on the other hand is equipped with V10 engine that produces more than 500 horsepower. These two cars exemplify Lexus’ high regards for power and performance.

The IS-F and LF-A are two distinct vehicles but share the same DNA, design, heritage and philosophy. The F-designation can be considered as the prominent factor in both vehicles and first conceived nearly twenty years ago as part of an internal project under the codename “Circle-F” in which F stands for “flagship”. This was later turned into Lexus Division.

The Circle-F further evolved to code name Flagship One or F1 which produces Lexus first F1 concept vehicle– the LS. The creation of the LS signifies the beginning of Lexus’ special vehicle program which involves outside the normal engineering and developmental process.

According to Bob Carter, Lexus Division Group Vice president and General Manager, “Lexus has long been perceived as the maker of mainstream luxury vehicles, but the unveiling of the IS-F and LF-A not only changes this perception, it also introduces a new Lexus marque. The ‘F’ shared by both vehicles is the signature for a new high-performance marque conceived by an engineering team that dared to turn their dream of ‘a Lexus like no other’ into a reality.”

The LF-A sports car concept is not entirely new as a matter of fact it was first presented at the 2005 NAIAS as a means of reflecting the bold and dynamic direction in styling that the Lexus brand is heading. The objectives set for the new LF-A are not that different from the original concept which is to build a supercar that has world-class performance and at the same time is uniquely Lexus.

The styling for the new LF-A was based on the design direction called L-finesse which was also the same styling used for the original LF-A concept. But to give the new LF-A with a distinct look, Lexus has further redefined styling by means of using greater curved surfaces and unique details.

The new LF-A’s running gear is likened to that of the original concept and powered by a potent high revving 500-plus horsepower V10 engine. Its high quality Lexus parts like its rear mounted radiators, together with its front mid-engine placement and rear mounted transaxle provide excellent weight distribution. Plus, its amazing horsepower, superior aerodynamics, as well as its revised styling make sit possible for the LF-A to reach a top speed of 200mph.

Lexus Is-f to Debut at Geneva Motor Show

Lexus is presenting the European premiere of its new F-marque called the IS-F. The said model will make its debut at this year’s Geneva Motor Show.

Geneva’s auto center stage is preparing for the introduction of the IS-F as a sports saloon from the fast-rising division of the Toyota Motor Corp. The center stage will also be shared with the LF-A supercar concept.

For ultra-high performance and exceptional sports driving dynamics, Lexus will is setting the F designation to mark its specially engineered cars. The F-badged models radiate power and outstanding handling as well as driving dynamics. To further emphasize its capabilities and potentials, Lexus engaged in the pursuit towards perfects. This venture, which is aimed at pushing the limits of automotive engineering, is now being recognized by the global auto industry.

The Lexus IS-F is powered by a 5.0-litre V8 that is capable of generating over 400 DIN horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. The acceleration of the car from rest to 62mph could reach top speed in a matter of 4.9 seconds. Aside from the remarkable engine power, it also boasts of its environment-friendly nature. The carbon dioxide emissions of 290g/km made the Lexus IS-F one of the cleanest sports saloons in its class – it is also one of the most powerful.

The IS-F sedan, which debuted at the 2007 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in January, does not only boast the two-stage intake system, engine oil and transmission fluid coolers and an oil pump designed for high-speed cornering, it offers more captivating features to lure even the young generation of drivers. The latter are said to be more meticulous in choosing cars.

The transmission of the car is based on the automaker’s world-first eight-speed automatic. The said feature debuted last year in the new Lexus LS460. Now, it is especially tuned for the Lexus IS-F with a new sports shift control. The latter allows the driver to pick a manual mode by just using the fully automatic gear selection or the paddle shifts on the steering wheel. To get the quickest up-shifting accessible for the segment at 100 milliseconds, the driver can opt to use the sports shift control.

The sporty character of the car is enhanced by the switchable VDIM (Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management) feature. The latter allows the driver to choose Normal, Sport or Off settings depending on his discretion.

The Lexus LF-A supercar concept, on the other hand, is the product of the automaker’s sports engineering team’s success in formulating a new and practical approach to auto design engineering for a more compact and fuel-efficient supercar concept powered by a 5.0-litre V10.

The LF-A concept measures 4,400mm in length. So far, it is the most compact and most powerful car in the Lexus lineup. The racing-inspired V10 engine produces over 500 DIN horsepower, giving the car a top speed of approximately 200mph. The forward/mid-engine location with rear-mounted transaxle and radiators gives the car ideal front/rear weight distribution and splendid handling exactitude. The V10 is further boosted by the efficient Lexus cold air intake providing cool breeze to achieve utmost engine efficiency.

Both the Lexus IS-F and the LF-A showcase the advancement in auto technology of Lexus as a result of rigorous studies and testing by its pool of engineers. The remarkable standing of the automaker is also highly-commended in the hybrid manufacture. The Lexus hybrid system is a combination of refinement and sophistication. These qualities are obvious in both the Lexus IS-F and the Lexus LF-A.

The automaker’s auto parts blended with the distinct qualities of Lexus make smooth, catchy, powerful and flexible luxury cars for every one to take pleasure in driving.

Self-parking Lexus?

Even the best drivers find it a challenge to do a parallel parking. So how about a car that promises to park itself? Toyota’s Lexus Division claims that its new $75,000 Lexus LS can do just that. Auto experts at Consumer Reports sized it up to see if it can get poor parkers into a tight spot.

The new Lexus LS guarantees to come to the rescue when it is time to do a parallel parking; thanks to its feature that claims to let the car virtually park itself.

Jake Fisher of Consumer Reports checked out the automatic parking feature. His feedback was that he first got lined to the front of the car like one would normally in parallel parking; then he put it in reverse and chose the parallel park feature. He pointed the place where he really wanted to park. And he was amazed that he hit okay using no hands when the screen turns green.

The feature is definitely designed for people who have trouble parking. So Consumer Reports signed up Ina Gozenpud, a self-described “parallel-parking disaster,” to do some attempts on it.

According to her, she really could not park her car. But after 20 minutes of maneuvering, Jake decided that it was time for Gozenpud to do parking attempts to the Lexus.

Initially, they find it hard to put the car’s relative position to the curb. But the Lexus did deliver, after Gozenpud got the hang of it, easing into the spot just inches from the curb.

Gozenpud told Fisher that the Lexus feature definitely helped.

However, Fisher said that using the electronics is a bit difficult. He commented that the self-parking feature is really for someone who is more comfortable in programming their iPod than backing into a parallel spot.

And of course, expect a price as mush as $75,000.

According to Consumer Reports, the $75,000 Lexus LS has still more to offer other than just an amazing self-parking feature. It got excellent ratings in tests; thanks to its 380 horsepower and the first eight-speed automatic transmission.

The Lexus brand was established in the early 1980s and launched in 1989. It soon became associated with quality, luxury and superior customer satisfaction. The brand reliably grew quickly until (barely 12 years after it was founded) Lexus became America’s best-selling line of luxury motor vehicles.

Lexus belongs to the global Toyota family, whose members together form part of the world’s third-leading automaker.

The marques make top of the line Lexus alternator.

Lexus’ Virtual Valet

Parking particularly parallel parking is one of the most difficult to accomplish even for professional drivers. Toyota through its luxury division Lexus the producer of high quality Lexus belts is promising a technology that will enable cars to park themselves. Impossible? Well trust Toyota to make the impossible possible with the new $75,000 Lexus LS you can have a car that car virtually park itself.

Consumer Reports has sent its auto experts to check on the new parking technology by Lexus and to see whether it can really deliver what it promises. The Lexus LS guarantees to help especially when parallel parking is required. It comes with a feature that claims to let the car virtually park itself.

Consumer Reports’ Jake Fisher was the one who checked out the automatic parking feature and here are some of his findings:

“I first get lined to the front of the car like you would normally in parallel parking. Put it in reverse. I choose parallel park feature. Point to the place where I really want to park. When the screen turns green I hit okay.” Look, Ma! No hands!

So things worked out fine for Jake Fisher probably because he is an auto engineer so Consumer Reports has again conducted another test and this time they have enlisted Ina Gozenpud who is a self-described “parallel-parking disaster” to see if the virtual valet of Lexus could actually help Ina.

And here’s what happened: To confirm the claim of Ina that she really can’t parallel parked her car she was made to park a car without the Lexus virtual parking valet and Gozenpud said, “I really, really can’t do this.”

After 20 minutes of watching Ina maneuvering, Jake finally decided to let Ina drive the Lexus LS. Initial expectation of Ina was that parking is going to be one breezy experience but to her dismay she found out that it’s not as easy as thought it would be.

First Jake found out that for somebody like Ina who is not that expert when it comes to parallel driving is still having difficulties even with the Lexus virtual valet. The source of difficulty? — Finding the car’s relative position to the curb.

But after some time Gozenpud finally got the hang of it and was happy to finally see Lexus coming up to what it has promised and surprisingly she was able to ease the car into the spot just inches from the curb. Gozenpud told Fisher that the Lexus virtual valet definitely helped.

The conclusion? According to Fisher, “Actually, using the electronics are a little tough. The self-parking feature is really for someone who’s more comfortable programming their iPod than backing into a parallel spot.” He also added that of course in case you have $75,000 to spare.

Lexus: Toyota’s Pride

The year 2007 must be a very good year for Toyota, especially its luxury division, Lexus. For the first half of the year, the brand had already garnered several awards from international automotive award giving bodies. Aside from being the best selling luxury car in the United States, its features of sophistication and aristocracy makes it exceptional from other car brands and deserves nothing but to be distinguished.

Early this year, Lexus was the recipient of What Car?’s Car of the Year Green Award. The award was a symbol of the recognition of Toyota’s efforts in developing hybrid vehicles and clean diesel engines that is very helpful to the environment (Lexus also uses the same system like that of the hybrid Toyota Prius). According to What Car? Editor Steve Fowler, “Toyota and Lexus are doing more than anyone else to offer consumers low-CO2 vehicles. Other manufacturers have been slow out of the blocks when it comes to environmental matters – we’d like to see more low-CO2 vehicles launched as a matter of priority.”

Lexus, along with Chevrolet and Toyota, also won IntelliChoice.com’s 2007 “Best Overall Value of the Year” award. IntelliChoice.com is an online source for automotive ownership and value analysis. The award is in recognition of the car’s best guarantee to return the investment in their classes. Lexus is the Best Car Value under $23,000.

Also, for twelve years, Lexus was constantly hailed as the Most Dependable Vehicle only for their thirteenth year, with GM’s Buick jumping to the first spot to share the prestige this year. The Vehicle Dependability study is annually conducted by J.D. Power Associates and was based on consumer complaints for three-year old cars. Lexus and Buick both scored 145.

In the New York Auto Show, Lexus’s model LS 460 was honored to be the 2007 World Car of the year. Among 22 contenders, the Lexus SL 460 was the choice of the jury of 22 journalists from all over the world. The unanimous vote was based on the criteria of customer satisfaction, style, quality and performance of the vehicle.

Another feather in the cap of Lexus is for its SL 460 being 2007’s Best Engineered Vehicle. The award giving body is the Automotive Engineering International Magazine (AEI). Votes were solicited from their readers, writers and editors.

Lexus for Luxury

Lexus, Toyota’s luxury arm, has grown to emerge as The United States’ top-selling automotive luxury brand. In 2006, Lexus sold 322,434 vehicles in the U.S., more than any other luxury competitor, foreign or domestic. Lexus has also been the number one selling luxury marque in the largest automotive market for the past seven years. And things are only getting better for Lexus as they continue to build the best luxury vehicles and auto parts like Lexus cold air intake as well as accessories.

Considering the price, a Lexus is almost too good for £71,000 or even for £65,000 with some extra kit and space. However, £57,100 is perceived a little much for a four-door saloon. But with that price you’ll get the world’s most sophisticated luxury car, the original of which was priced £40,000 eighteen years ago.

The latest Lexus model, the Lexus 460, is considered much larger and more rounded when compared to the original and the mark-two version. Lately, Lexus designers have made use of fashion to put elegance on Lexus vehicles.

This new Lexus flagship has no doubt been upgraded – the auto maker has given it multiple airbags and all sorts of electronic stability and safety systems sure to satisfy future owners and enthusiasts alike. Traction control and assistance systems, which belong to the category, can be switched off by the drive at will. Warning devices, on the other hand, only become prominent when necessary, such as in case a car ahead suddenly slows down or stops.

On the technical issues, Lexus increased the engine size a little; from four liters in the original to 4.3 liters in the mark two. Currently, engine size for this model is now 4.6 liters. Such engine allows the car to run 0 to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds, and delivers a top speed of 155 mph.

Another significant feature is the switches and buttons made available everywhere in the car and the best thing about them is that you don’t have to read the owner’s manual to know how to operate them. That’s a lot more of a user friendly control panel which everyone will especially be thankful for.

On the exterior, the radiator grille was changed from just being a big square grille to a one closely similar to the Mercedes Benz S-class’. Not exactly the most original of the lot you may say, but Lexus vehicles certainly live up to its reputation of being one, if not the best in the industry.

Some owners and test drivers have been reported to point out a detectable engine noise on the latest car, though not much to be considered loud. Regardless this new Lexus model has been gaining praises, including that of its interior smelling of real leather which was used in the upholstery.

Priced at about £55,000, though itcouldn’t be closely compared with the prestige of Audi or BMW with regards to a cross-country dash, the Lexus delivers luxury, safety, comfort, and reliability all in one swoop.

The eight-speed automatic transmission is integrated in the car to boost fuel economy and auto refinement. To activate the safety features of the Lexus LS 460 in an instant before an impending impact, the automaker added the Advanced Pre-Crash Safety System. This is resorted to by Lexus to maximize protection of the occupants. Another safety feature dubbed the Advanced Obstacle Detection system detects hazards ahead through sensitive radars.

To boost safety much further, the Driver Monitoring System is also added. The latter sends sound warnings and primes safety systems when the driver dozes off while driving. Another safety feature favorable to drivers is called the emergency steering assist which aids the driver to steer the right way in a skid.

Another worthy feature of the Lexus LS 460 is the Intelligent Powertrain Control System that aids the car to function safely, smoothly and efficiently. For better engine performance, Lexus equipped the car with a wider speed range via the VVT-iE electric camshaft activation. In cases of collisions, the occupants are protected by adjustable seatbelts and headrests in front of rear-end smash. Whether the car is running or parked, it is protected from whiplash.

The all-new Lexus LS 460 is better equipped than any other car in same segment. This is the very reason why the automaker sets forth the vehicle with high hopes. The new vehicle from Lexus mitigates the circumstances before the worst could happen. The car philosophy fervently observed is called preventive safety. The radar and infrared camera scans the road ahead to warn the driver and the occupants of the potential collision. It detects the presence of vehicles, pedestrians and other obstructions.

One camera follows the movement of driver’s head. This is to monitor whether he is paying attention to the road or his eyes are not looking ahead when collision impending. If the collision could not be avoided, the brakes, suspension and front seatbelts are programmed to deliver their superb performance so as to minimize damage to the occupants.

The Lexus LS 460 is the very first car to provide a Rear Pre-Crash Safety system equipped with radar. The system is function even on a stationary mode. The Lexus LS 460 is available in 3 grades: LS 460, LS 460 SE and LS 460 SE-L. The prices are £57,000, £65,000 and £71,000, respectively.
